Falling within the LGBTQ2S+ spectrum, Two-Spirit is a term that broadly refers to Indigenous individuals who embody both masculine and feminine spirits. The suicide rate among Two-Spirit First Nations people is roughly twice as high as that of heterosexual Indigenous individuals in Canada and the U.S. This mental health crisis is linked to elevated levels of discrimination and prejudice.
